CNPEM
The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) is a private, non-profit organization overseen by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI). It is responsible for managing the Brazilian Synchrotron Light National Laboratory (LNLS), Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory (LNBio), Brazilian Biorenewables National Laboratory (LNBR), and the Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano). More recently, with support from the Ministry of Education (MEC), the CNPEM expanded its activities by opening the Ilum School of Science, an innovative interdisciplinary undergraduate program in science, technology and innovation.
