Held in partnership with COPROPI, the initiative is accepting applications starting August 30th with the mission of expanding the CNPEM user program
From August 30th to September 27th, 2024, the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials is accepting applications for the CNPEM Ambassadors Program. This initiative aims to expand the territorial reach of its beneficiaries, acting in transversal areas of knowledge and impacting the Brazilian Science, Technology, and Innovation System (SNCTI).
The Program has the support of the College of Pro-Rectors of Research, Postgraduate Studies and Innovation of IFES (COPROPI). In its first edition, it will focus on selecting Ambassadors linked to Federal Universities in the North and Northeast regions.
The initiative, a first for CNPEM, aims to increase awareness of the Center’s Open Facilities and the ways to access these facilities through actions supported by future Ambassadors in their respective regions. The CNPEM Ambassadors Program may be expanded to other regions of the country.
The Program includes a work plan that will be developed through online meetings, in-person meetings, and events for Ambassadors. “Our goal is to disseminate the CNPEM User Program and the various opportunities through which the scientific community can benefit from the multidisciplinary technical capabilities offered by the Center,” highlights Rosana Tamagawa, manager of the CNPEM User´s Office (EdU). CNPEM has dozens of open facilities operated by different National Laboratories: Synchrotron Light (LNLS), Biosciences (LNBio), Nanotechnology (LNNano), and Biorenewables (LNBR).
The selected Ambassadors will receive a certificate of participation/training and will take part in the Annual Meeting of Ambassadors at CNPEM with travel expenses funded by the Program. The monthly meetings will be held virtually and will be organized by the CNPEM User’s Office (EdU), the organizational structure that leads the CNPEM Ambassadors Program.
The selection criteria for participation in the Program can be found on Program page (website link). Candidates must have a doctorate degree and be affiliated with federal public universities in the North and Northeast regions. Prior knowledge of accessing CNPEM facilities will be considered a plus for structuring the Program.
