The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), a legal entity governed by private law, is a non-profit association, qualified, under the terms of Law no. 9.637/1998, as a Social Organization, and its objective is to promote and contribute to scientific, technological and innovation development in Brazil, as well as the training of human resources, through its national laboratories, research units and educational institutions.
As a Social Organization, CNPEM is supervised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), through a Management Contract signed with the Federal Government, aimed at fostering a partnership between the parties to promote and carry out activities related to scientific research, technological development and technology transfer.
CNPEM’s bylaws have been duly registered, under record 0087173, with the First Hall of Corporate Records in the city of Campinas-SP. CNPEM is managed by a General Assembly, Board of Directors, Finance Committee and Directors. Under the terms of Law 9.637/1998, the Board of Directors has several exclusive powers.
