CNPEM took part in the 2025 edition of Campinas Innovation Week, presenting projects and talks

CNPEM participates in talks during Campinas Innovation Week
The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) took part in another edition of Campinas Innovation Week (CIW), an innovation fair that brings together companies, startups, research centers, and universities from the city and surrounding region. Held from June 9 to 13 at the Pátio Ferroviário, the free event featured more than 200 speakers across various thematic stages and exhibitor booths.
Visitors to CIW throughout the week had access to a wide range of content on technological innovation, including talks, roundtables, workshops, and more, covering key topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, and quantum technologies. On June 10, the Orange Stage hosted two presentations by CNPEM professionals. In the morning, Aline Maria Pascon, entrepreneurship specialist at the Innovation Support Office, shared CNPEM innovation case studies alongside other local institutes during the roundtable “Innovation Hubs: Campinas Case Studies.” In the afternoon, the session titled “Boosting the Semiconductor Industry in Brazil” highlighted Campinas’ legacy as a hub for the semiconductor sector. One of the presentations was led by Rodrigo Capaz, Director of the National Nanotechnology Laboratory (LNNano).
Attendees also had the opportunity to visit the CNPEM booth, which showcased projects and patents developed in collaboration with national and international companies, as well as offered insight into the Center’s open-access scientific facilities and upcoming initiatives, such as Orion—a new laboratory complex for advanced studies on pathogens. On Wednesday, June 11, event participants also had the chance to visit Sirius, the state-of-the-art synchrotron light source designed and built by Brazilian researchers.
Campinas Innovation Week (CIW) is held annually by the City of Campinas, in partnership with the Fórum Campinas Foundation, Venture Hub, and 100 Open Startups, and is organized by the Campinas Commercial and Industrial Association (ACIC).
