Applications are now being accepted for a joint call for fellowship candidates as part of a research collaboration program between the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM).
The initiative offers doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships for studies carried out in partnership between CNPEM and USP research groups in strategic areas or CNPEM’s transversal competencies.
Proposals must involve at least two principal investigators (one from USP and one from CNPEM), both active at their respective institutions. Candidates for the doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships do not need to be defined at the time the proposal is submitted, only when the projects are carried out.
During this call for applications, up to 20 doctoral and up to 10 post-doctoral fellowships will be awarded. Applications will be accepted until July 24, 2025.
More information is available in the Call for Proposals at: https://www.prpg.usp.br/attachments/article/31/Chamada-conjunta-USP-CNPEM-2025.pdf
Institutional partnership
The call is the result of an agreement signed between CNPEM and USP on July 24 at a ceremony held in USP’s University Council room. The initiative, made official in a decree signed by Chancellor Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Júnior and published in the Official São Paulo State Gazette, establishes a total of 40 fellowships for PhD students at USP and 20 for post-doctoral researchers (divided into two separate calls for applications) to carry out projects in laboratories at USP and CNPEM.
