Fellowships offered in the SET-B, SET-C and SET-G categories to professionals with undergraduate or doctorate degrees
The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) is offering six research positions with fellowship funding from the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq): 3 for candidates who have completed their doctorates (SET-B and SET-C), and 3 for professionals who have completed their undergraduate degrees (SET-G). These opportunities are linked to CNPq project 408016/2024-8, and applications will be accepted up to December 31, 2024.
The project will evaluate the Brazilian context for fuels that require intense use of electricity to produce (e-fuels), such as low-carbon electrolytic hydrogen and its derivatives, and will prioritize aviation fuels. The selected candidates will work on technical, economic and environmental modeling of e-fuel production processes, and will be allocated to the Brazilian Biorenewables National Laboratory (LNBR), which is part of CNPEM.
Requirements for CNPq fellowships
Candidates interested in applying for one of the six fellowships must meet the requirements of the research funding agency as well as CNPEM:
- The SET-B and SET-C fellowships are for professionals with doctorate degrees and documented experience in modeling and assessment of chemical processes or electrical energy systems.
- The fellowships in the SET-G category are for professionals with undergraduate degrees and experience compatible with the work involved in this project.
Fellowship amounts and term
The periods and amounts of the fellowships are as follows; values can be verified at https://www.gov.br/cnpq/pt-br/acesso-a-informacao/bolsas-e-auxilios/copy_of_modalidades/tabela-de-valores-no-pais.
