The research will combine\u00a0<strong>fluctuation microscopy (FM)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>electron pair distribution function (ePDF)<\/strong>\u00a0analyses obtained through transmission electron microscopy, addressing a fundamental gap in the understanding of the atomic structure of amorphous materials. The postdoctoral fellow will be supervised by Professor Edson Roberto Leite.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The selected fellow will work on the processing and characterization of amorphous inorganic materials, including silicate glasses. Activities will include sample preparation, TEM\/STEM experiments using nanometer-scale electron beams, development of protocols for the acquisition and analysis of ePDF and fluctuation microscopy (FM) data in a correlative framework, and interpretation of middle-range order (MRO) structures. The fellow will also collaborate with CEMol teams and researchers from partner institutions.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Candidate requirements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>PhD in Materials Science or a related field;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in transmission electron microscopy (TEM\/STEM) and\/or advanced image processing techniques;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the structural analysis of glasses, amorphous materials, or nanomaterials will be considered an asset;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in programming, scientific data analysis applications, and software development for scientific data processing will be essential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Interested candidates should send an email to\u00a0<strong>cemol@cnpem.br<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0<strong>September 10, 2026<\/strong>, with the subject line\u00a0<em>Postdoctoral Fellowship in Science Tools \u2013 [First Name and Last Name]<\/em>, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Curriculum Vitae, including a link to the applicant\u2019s Lattes CV or another academic profile;<\/li>\n<li>A motivation letter describing previous experience and interest in the fellowship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fellowship<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of R$ 12,570. In addition, the fellow will receive a Technical Reserve Fund corresponding to 10% of the annual fellowship amount, intended to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research plan.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:justify; margin-top:20px;\"><h2>About CNPEM<\/h2><p>The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) is home to a state-of-the-art, multi-user and multidisciplinary scientific environment and works on different fronts within the Brazilian National System for Science, Technology and Innovation.
