This event, held by the Ministry of Health in partnership with the city of Rio de Janeiro, will bring together public managers, researchers, hospitals, startups and representatives from the productive sector to discuss paths toward a stronger, more technological and accessible health system for Brazil\u2019s population.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-64780\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cnpem.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/inovasusrj.jpg?resize=500%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cnpem.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/inovasusrj.jpg?resize=500%2C200&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cnpem.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/inovasusrj.jpg?resize=1030%2C412&amp;ssl=1 1030w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cnpem.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/inovasusrj.jpg?resize=768%2C307&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cnpem.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/inovasusrj.jpg?w=1100&amp;ssl=1 1100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the fair, CNPEM will present several of its technologies and infrastructures with potential applications in Brazil\u2019s Unified Health System (SUS) which are in line with the country\u2019s strategic public health demands. Notable highlights include development of biosensors to detect disease, drug delivery solutions from Brazilian biodiversity, and research on the use of particle accelerators in medical applications such as proton therapy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Visitors will also be able to learn more about the role played in health research by CNPEM\u2019s infrastructures, such as the Sirius fourth-generation synchrotron light source and the Orion maximum biological containment lab complex currently under construction, which will allow advanced research on pathogens and contribute to preparedness and response to health emergencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CNPEM\u2019s participation in the fair takes place within the context of the Inova\u00e7\u00e3o Radical em Sa\u00fade [Radical Innovation in Health] program, an initiative by the Ministry of Health to create a new technological development model for the SUS. The Center was chosen to host the first center in this initiative, which strives to connect scientific research, technological development and integration between different actors within the health system by constructing a collaborative hub.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The goal of the program is to accelerate the transformation of scientific knowledge into concrete solutions for the SUS, promoting ties between research institutions, hospitals, public managers and the productive sector. Within this context, the hub being developed at CNPEM is intended to strengthen strategic partnerships and shorten the time between scientific discovery and clinical applications, in line with the country\u2019s public policies on science, technology and innovation.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">More about the event<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The SUS Inova Brasil Fair is held by the Ministry of Health and will include programming that presents technologies developed by Brazilian scientific institutions and hospitals, as well as themed panels, networking activities and technological demonstration spaces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The confirmed participants include institutions such as the Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital, A.C. Camargo Cancer Center, Benefic\u00eancia Portuguesa de S\u00e3o Paulo, HCor, FIOCRUZ, Brazilian National Cancer Institute (INCA) and the Butantan Institute, as well as companies and healthtechs like Hilab and Phelcom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event will take place on April 17 from 9 AM at the Porto Maravalley innovation hub in the city of Rio de Janeiro. A social organization overseen by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), CNPEM is driven by research that impacts the areas of health, energy, renewable materials, and sustainability. It is responsible for Sirius, the largest assembly of scientific equipment constructed in the country, and is currently constructing Project Orion, a laboratory complex for advanced pathogen research. Highly specialized science and engineering teams, sophisticated infrastructure open to the scientific community, strategic lines of investigation, innovative projects involving the productive sector, and training for researchers and students are the pillars of this institution that is unique in Brazil and able to serve as a bridge between knowledge and innovation.
