The initiative takes place at the CNPEM campus in Campinas (SP) and offers educators an immersive experience in a cutting-edge technological and scientific environment<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Good news: registration for the 8th edition of the Sirius School for High School Teachers (ESPEM 2026) has been extended. The program is aimed at Physics, Chemistry, and Biology teachers working in the public or private high school system. Educators can apply until next Monday (September 22nd) on the <\/span>ESPEM website<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will be held from January 12 to 17, 2026, in Campinas (SP), at the campus of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), a social organization supervised by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovations (MCTI). The ESPEM is also supported by the Brazilian Physical Society (SBF).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Immersion in cutting-edge science<\/h3>\n

During the six-day event, selected educators will have access to theoretical and practical classes taught by CNPEM specialists, as well as lectures by guests from the fields of education and science.<\/span> In addition, ESPEM includes visits to CNPEM facilities, including Sirius, the largest and most complex scientific infrastructure ever built in Brazil.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The focus is to introduce these professors to research and development in synchrotron light, biosciences, nanotechnology, engineering and biorenewables, in addition to disseminating <\/span>information about <\/span>the <\/span>undergraduate<\/span> course in Science, Technology and Innovation offered by Ilum School of Science.<\/span> This event is also a great opportunity for participants from all over the country to exchange experiences, teaching strategies, and knowledge.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Participant selection process and subsidies awarded<\/h3>\n

To ensure the inclusion of teachers from all over Brazil, CNPEM will cover, in whole or in part, the transportation, accommodation<\/span>,<\/span> and food expenses of the selected educators<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ESPEM 2026 organizing committee will seek to compose the class using criteria such as<\/span> equal distribution between areas of activity (Physics, Chemistry or Biology); regionality; gender diversity; motivation and performance in extension activities, educational projects and events.<\/span> More details about these points, and the subsidies that can be granted, are in the <\/span>public <\/span>notice<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
