The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), in collaboration with the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), offers two PhD scholarships (R$5,520.00 each) and one postdoctoral scholarship (R$12,000.00) under the USP\u2013CNPEM public notice. The opportunities involve research in micro\/nanofabrication, chemical sensors and advanced materials.<\/p>\n

Research Lines and activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

PhD 1 \u2014 Flexible and sustainable electrolytic transistors for chemical sensors:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Development of micro\/nanofabrication methods on plastic substrates (preference for biopolymers)<\/p>\n

– PhD from PPG (Postgraduate Program) in Physics or Materials Engineering (USP\/S\u00e3o Carlos)<\/p>\n

– Predominant activity at LNNano\/CNPEM \u2013 Campinas Desired education: Bachelor’s\/Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Physics or related fields.<\/p>\n

PhD 2 \u2014 MIPs for pesticide sensors:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) selective to pesticides; fabrication and electrical\/electrochemical characterization of electrolytic transistors<\/p>\n

– PhD from PPG (Postgraduate Program) in Physics or Materials Engineering (USP\/S\u00e3o Carlos)<\/p>\n

– Predominant activity at IFSC\/USP \u2013 Polymers Group (S\u00e3o Carlos) Desired education: Bachelor’s\/Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Physics or related fields.<\/p>\n

Postdoctoral \u2014 Micro\/Nanofabrication of integrated electrolytic transistor architectures for agrochemical sensors<\/p>\n

– Emphasis on micro- and nanofabrication and the design of new integrated electrolytic transistor architectures<\/p>\n

– Predominant activity at LNNano\/CNPEM \u2013 Campinas Desired education: PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Engineering, Physical Engineering or related fields.<\/p>\n

Application requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Meet the desired education for each vacancy.<\/p>\n

– Motivation letter to work on materials, devices and sensors with an experimental emphasis (micro\/nanofabrication and characterizations).<\/p>\n

The activities will be developed at LNNano\/CNPEM (Campinas) and\/or at IFSC-USP (S\u00e3o Carlos), under the supervision of Prof. Osvaldo Novais de Oliveira Jr. (IFSC-USP), and co-supervision of Dr. Rafael Furlan de Oliveira (LNNano\/CNPEM).<\/p>\n

About CNPEM<\/h2>

The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) is home to a state-of-the-art, multi-user and multidisciplinary scientific environment and works on different fronts within the Brazilian National System for Science, Technology and Innovation.
