Facility\u2019s utilization by academic users is always free of charge, and proposal submissions are carried out online<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Between December 10th, 2024 and January 15th, 2025<\/strong>, the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) will receive research proposals from the external academic community for use of the Protein Purification Laboratory (LPP)<\/strong>. The proposals will be carried out between February and June 2025.<\/p>\n

The Protein Purification Laboratory (LPP) from the Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory (LNBio)<\/strong> offers a complete structure and inputs for E. coli expression and recombinant protein purification. The facility has a set of FLPC (Fast protein liquid chromatography<\/em>) chromatographs for protein separation, with availability of affinity, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction and size exclusion chromatographic columns.<\/p>\n

The facility\u2019s team offers scientific support in optimizing methods, choosing columns and recommending buffer solutions based on the target molecule to be purified, besides the equipment usage training and complete support in carrying out the separation processes. The LPP provides a supportive and learning environment, aiming to obtain pure and stable protein samples, suitable for use in different subsequent functional and structural studies.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth of notice that the user must take part in person of the whole experimental process, in addition to providing the expression vector for the protein of interest and the expression and purification protocol\u2019s reference, from the literature or previously tested.<\/p>\n

The proposal’s selection criteria includes proposed experimental protocol technical feasibility, considering the equipment, inputs and techniques available at the LPP capabilities. Access the facility<\/strong>\u2019<\/strong>s offered portfolio<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Proposal submission will be carried out exclusively through the SAU online system<\/strong><\/a>. Users from outside the State of S\u00e3o Paulo may request travel assistance \u2013 find out more on the CNPEM Users Office (EdU) assistance page<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
