The project will take place in the Cryogenic Electron Microscopy Laboratory (Nanobiotechnology Division) at LNNano\/CNPEM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One postdoctoral position is dedicated to developing methods to optimize data processing in our cryoEM data analysis pipeline; the focus is on efficient processing of large datasets, particularly 4D processing, related to the structural variability of proteins on the global and local scale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The other postdoctoral opportunity will focus on developing devices and methods in time-resolved cryoEM. This technique is used to study macromolecular complexes that are out of equilibrium through rapid freezing of reactions between biological macromolecules.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The selected candidates will also be responsible for using these new methodologies to support our efforts in different projects related to structural biology. The successful candidates will receive FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship funding of R$ 9,047.40 per month and a technical reserve equivalent to 10% of the yearly grant amount for unforeseen expenses which are directly related to research activity.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The requirements for this opportunity are as follows:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>undergraduate diploma in physics, computation, engineering, mathematics, or related subjects<\/li>\n<li>must meet all FAPESP postdoctoral scholarship requirements<\/li>\n<li>experience managing HPC systems and Windows\/Linux servers is desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">About the project<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This project is part of a FAPESP Thematic Project in cryogenic electron microscopy addressing the development of new methodologies and the study of macromolecules using this technique.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">About CNPEM<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A sophisticated and effervescent environment for research and development, unique in Brazil and present in few scientific centers in the world, the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) is a private non-profit organization, under the supervision of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI).
