Paulo, em 11\/02\/2012<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Trabalho pode levar a mol\u00e9culas inibidoras<\/p>\n<p><strong>SABINE RIGHETTI<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> DE S\u00c3O PAULO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pesquisadores brasileiros demonstraram o mecanismo de a\u00e7\u00e3o de uma das principais enzimas ligadas ao crescimento dos tumores.<\/p>\n<p>A enzima \u00e9 a glutaminase, primeira participante da quebra do amino\u00e1cido glutamina no interior das c\u00e9lulas.<\/p>\n<p>Conhecer esse mecanismo \u00e9 importante porque a glutamina e a glicose s\u00e3o fontes de alimento de c\u00e9lulas tumorais.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A descri\u00e7\u00e3o da a\u00e7\u00e3o da glutaminase pode levar, no futuro, ao desenvolvimento de mol\u00e9culas que possam inibir sua a\u00e7\u00e3o&#8221;, explica Sandra Dias, do LNBio (Laborat\u00f3rio Nacional de Bioci\u00eancias).<\/p>\n<p>H\u00e1 d\u00e9cadas pesquisadores estudam a a\u00e7\u00e3o da glicose no crescimento tumoral. Mas os trabalhos com foco na glutamina s\u00e3o mais recentes.<\/p>\n<p>Os pesquisadores detalharam a a\u00e7\u00e3o da enzima glutaminase na quebra da glutamina. Eles notaram que uma das variantes da enzima, a glutaminase C, \u00e9 mais importante nesse processo.<\/p>\n<p>O trabalho, conduzido pelo LNBio e pela USP, com participa\u00e7\u00e3o dos EUA, foi publicado na revista &#8220;PNAS&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Folha de S.
