O objetivo \u00e9 conhecer as obras do Laborat\u00f3rio Sirius, um novo acelerador de part\u00edculas brasileiro, situado na regi\u00e3o do Polo de Alta Tecnologia de Campinas.<\/p>\n<p>Participam da comitiva o presidente da comiss\u00e3o, deputado Leo de Brito (PT-AC); e os deputados Sib\u00e1 Machado (PT-AC) e Edinho Bez (PMDB-SC), que sugeriram a visita. Inicialmente marcada para a semana passada, a viagem da comiss\u00e3o foi remarcada para a manh\u00e3 desta ter\u00e7a-feira.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Avan\u00e7o nas pesquisas<\/strong><br \/>\nSirius \u00e9 o nome da nova fonte brasileira de luz s\u00edncrotron, que substituir\u00e1 a fonte atual do LNLS. O projeto e a constru\u00e7\u00e3o dos principais equipamentos s\u00e3o nacionais e financiados pelo governo federal.<\/p>\n<p>A luz s\u00edncrotron \u00e9 produzida em aceleradores de el\u00e9trons de alta energia quando essas part\u00edculas s\u00e3o submetidas a desvios de trajet\u00f3ria sob a influ\u00eancia de campos magn\u00e9ticos.<\/p>\n<p>Nos \u00faltimos 15 anos, o uso de luz s\u00edncrotron em pesquisas cient\u00edficas e tecnol\u00f3gicas registrou um enorme avan\u00e7o, inclusive no Brasil. Globalmente, tem-se observado um significativo aumento no n\u00famero de usu\u00e1rios, incluindo empresas que passaram a fazer uso dessas instala\u00e7\u00f5es para estudos de f\u00e1rmacos, energia (catalisadores, baterias, c\u00e9lulas de combust\u00edvel, etc.), microeletr\u00f4nica, petroqu\u00edmica, metalurgia, cosm\u00e9ticos, alimentos e materiais (pol\u00edmeros, cimentos e vidros, entre outros).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recursos do PAC<\/strong><br \/>\nSegundo Sib\u00e1 Machado, o projeto do Laborat\u00f3rio Sirius prev\u00ea um acelerador de part\u00edculas do tipo s\u00edncrotron de \u00faltima gera\u00e7\u00e3o, sendo o mais sofisticado empreendimento tecnol\u00f3gico j\u00e1 concebido no Brasil, com investimento de R$ 1,7 bilh\u00e3o. O projeto, inscrito no Programa de Acelera\u00e7\u00e3o do Crescimento (PAC), dever\u00e1 entrar na fase de testes em 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Fontes de Luz S\u00edncrotron s\u00e3o equipamentos de grande porte que produzem feixes de radia\u00e7\u00e3o eletromagn\u00e9tica de alta intensidade, usados para analisar as caracter\u00edsticas microsc\u00f3picas dos materiais, emitindo luz vis\u00edvel, infravermelho, ultravioleta e raios X.<\/p>\n<p>A nova fonte de luz s\u00edncrotron brasileira ter\u00e1 capacidade para atender mais de 40 experimentos simultaneamente, praticamente o triplo da fonte atual.
